Subject: Islamic Sufism
Track: Tazkia-tun-Nafs
In observing the Islamic law of Jurisprudence in day-to-day life, Muslims follow certain teachers who are known as Imams of Fiqh, like (i) Imam Abu Hanifa (699-767 AD), (ii) Imam Malik (711-795 AD), (iii) Imam Shafii, (767-820 AD), and (iv) Imam Ahmed Ibn Hanbal (780-855 AD) (رضئ اللہ تعالی عنہم اجمعين). Similarly, Muslims follow certain Sufi Shuyookh of Ihsan in matters of Ihsan, like (i) Shaikh Abdul Qadir Jeelani (1077-1166 AD), (ii) Khwaja Moinuddin Chishtee (1136-1230 AD), (iii) Shaikh Abul Hasan Shadhili (1196-1258 AD), (iv) Khwaja Bahauddin Naqshband (1318-1389 AD), etc. They have taught specific Islamic practices for Tazkia-tun-Nafs. This course explains the requirement of a Sahih-ul-Aqeedah Shaikh of Ihsan for everyone because Islam cannot be learnt by independent study of Quran and Sunnah, on your own, with your limited understanding of issues of this world and of Hereafter.
